Air Quality and Environmental Noise Technologies Research Group conducts studies on environmental noise management, air quality management and strategies & policies on adaptation to climate change. It has had the TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard accreditation certificate since 2002, in order to respond the demands of public/private industry organizations, for research projects and analyses. Also, the laboratories of the research group have been authorized for studies by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. It provides services with the infrastructure of Acoustic Measurement, Design and Modeling, Air Pollution Measurement and Analysis and Odor Analysis Laboratories. Activities as per research teams are as follows.
Main Fields of Study on Environmental Noise Management:
- Creation of strategic noise maps and noise action plans
- Development of noise barrier systems
- Development of noise monitoring systems
- Determination of the effects of noise from transportation vehicles on health
- Investigation of sound absorption qualities of highway pavement materials
Main Fields of Study on Air Quality Management:
- Development of new generation measurement and analysis systems for atmospheric pollutants
- Regional air quality management studies
- Determination of the transport and health effects of air pollutants
Main Fields of Study on Strategies and Policies for Adaptation to Climate Change;
- Determination of national, regional, local and institutional strategies on adaptation to climate change and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions
- Studies on the determination of national climate policies
- Sectoral climate change risk analysis
It operates as a group of 20 people with its experienced team of researchers and technicians, 30% of whom have completed their doctorate and 30% master's degrees. Having interrelated expertise in the group allows adapting quickly to new conditions, taking new directions when necessary and creating a participatory structure.
