The Kick-off Meeting of Providing Standardization in Marine Monitorings Project was held on October, 27th, 2015 at Mustafa İnan Conference Hall, TÜBİTAK Headquarters, Ankara.
Attendees: Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs, Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, TÜBİTAK MRC, Turkish Coast Guard Command, Karadeniz Technical University, Dokuz Eylül University, İstanbul University, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, Çanakkale On Sekiz Mart University, Sinop University, Mineral Research and Exploration and Turkish Atomic Energy Authority.
The meeting started with the opening speeches of TÜBİTAK MAM Environment and Cleaner Production Institute Deputy Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haldun KARAN and Ministry of Environment and Urbanization-Environmental Impact Assessment and Planning Department General Director Mustafa SATILMIŞ. TÜBİTAK MAM project manager Ersan KUZYAKA gave a detailed presentation on the project following the opening speeches. The next session started with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çolpan BEKEN’s presentation entitled “Assessment of the status of the marine monitoring projects. Afterwards, the project coordinators, Prof. Dr. Fatma TELLI KARAKOÇ (The Black Sea), Prof. Dr. Filiz KÜÇÜKSEZGIN (The Aegean Sea and Mediterranean Sea) and Asst. Prof. Dr. Hüsne ALTIOK (The Marmara Sea and Strait), gave presentations on general information, ongoing monitoring projects and stress status of those seas. The meeting was completed with the question and answer section.
